Feng Shui in Office and Workplace (2)

In Yin Yang studies, everything is interconnected. Hence, the Feng  Shui setting in office is equally important as the Feng Shui setting at home. Office setting is especially important for one’s career development and relations with coworkers. Similar to Feng Shui in Office and Workplace, listed below are also Feng Shui advices for setting in workplace.

Reinforcing the Luck of Fortune in Office
A goldfish bowl is considered a very good Feng Shui ornament to reinforce fortune luck in the office. The golden color of goldfish is good for reinforcing fortune luck and the number of goldfish in the bowl should be: 1, 4, 6, 8, 9.

Citrine (Yellow-colored crystal) decorations are good for fortune luck as well. A citrine ball can be a good choice.

Avoid Sitting Against The Door (Back to the Door)
Sitting against the door with back (背門坐) is strongly discouraged in the office. Door is considered the entrance of Chi (), as people walk by frequently. This flow of people and Chi at one’s back creates a constant impact and tension, which would lead to unsettling mind and decisional errors.

The best way to solve the problem is to adjust the office table so that the sitting position is changed. If this is not feasible, a chair with back support should be chosen.

Avoid Windows Behind The Seat
Similar to door, window is considered the entrance of Chi, and it is not advised to have a window behind the seat (椅後有窗).

The best way to solve the problem is to adjust the office table so that the sitting position is changed. If this is not feasible, a chair with back support should be chosen.

Avoid Mirror Reflection
Many office buildings nowadays décor their walls with mirrors. Some workers also put a small mirror on the office table for their own use. In Feng Shui, the reflection from these mirrors are considered Light Burden (光煞), and the reflection images will cause dizziness and confusion to one’s mind. It is strongly advised to avoid mirror reflection whenever possible.
