Driving & Thriving: Feng Shui Advice for Cars

Commuting is common for city dwellers.  While focusing on home and office place decorations for virtuous Feng Shui, many Feng Shui believers overlook the time they spend on their cars.

According to the Five Elements Theory, color of one’s car can affect the Yin Yang energy balance and it is crucial to find the car which matches the driver’s element character.

Color Preference According to Five Elements Theory
Drivers with Gold Element Character: Gold
Drivers with Wood Element Character: Green
Drivers with Water Element Character: Blue or BlackDrivers with Fire Element Character: Red
Drivers with Soil/Earth Element Character: Brown

Zodiac Character Effects
Feng Shui believers with zodiac character of Rabbit and Tiger should not have metallic objects in the cars while Feng Shui believers with zodiac character of Monkey and Rooster should not have wooden objects in the cars.

Enhance Feng Shui in Cars
In Feng Shui perspective,  the counteracting force between Gold and Wood (金木對抗/交戰) causes the bad karma in driving. To alleviate the situation, the element of Water need to be enforced, which can enhance both Gold and Wood elements (調和理順).
A Chinese Calabash Amulet can enhance Feng Shui in cars because of its Water Element based characteristics. Another simple yet effective way is to keep a bottle of mineral water in the car. The effect is optimal with mineral water while distilled water is not recommended as distilled water is considered lifeless in Feng Shui. Last but not least, in areas where air conditioning is appropriate, it is recommended to keep the air conditioning on, which is also considered to be Water Element based. It is noteworthy that there is no need to set the temperature too low nor too high.

Keep the Volume Down for Good Feng Shui
Loud volume from music or machine such as the engine sound is considered a Gold Interference (金煞) of Feng Shui. The noise is not only disturbing to the driver in the car, but also affecting other road users as well.
