Additional Tips for Feng Shui Number

Avoid Using 9 & 5 Together: Number 9 & 5 have been the symbol of Chinese Emperor (九五之尊) for millenniums. It is the symbol of supreme authority that no one can challenge. In ancient China, there were straight requirements in the usage of number such as the number of rooms in a house and officials who used the 9 & 5 numbers together (e.g. 5 house beams with 9 rooms) were a sign of transgression (僭越) and had serious consequences.

Number of Lights in the House – Optimal for 0 and 5: The basic element characters for lighting appliances are Fire and it is optimal to reinforce the Chi by having 0 or 5 related numbers of lighting devices, such as 5, 10, 15, etc. consequences.

Is 4 a Bad Number? Depends: There is a general misbelief in many Chinese communities that 4 is a unlucky number and its pronunciation is similar to death in Chinese. According to Feng Shui, 4 has the element character of Gold and it depends one’s element character to see if 4 is reinforcing or counteracting the Chi flow. The similar logic goes with number 13.
