Kitchen Feng Shui Do’s and Don’ts

In Feng Shui, kitchen affects family members’ health and wealth luck, and there are some general decoration principles.

In Yin Yang Energy study, kitchen is considered Yin(陰), and should be kept  neat and tidy without waste and rubbish. Also, concealed kitchen knives would help prevent conflict among family members. To echo with the Yin character of kitchen, number of lighting equipment should be singular. Refrigerator symbolizes vault in Feng Shui, can has an impact on family members’ wealth fortune. It is optimal for the refrigerator to be stacked with ample of food and fresh fruits. Feng Shui believers should never let refrigerator goes empty.  
Kitchen Orientation
In terms of orientation, kitchen is best not to be located in the left side of living room. Bathroom and kitchen should not be adjacent to each other. To prevent Water Fire Counteract (水火相沖), water sink and stove/oven should not be put directly against each other. It is also good for Feng Shui to keep heat resisting greenish plant in the kitchen such as the Money Plant/Golden Pothos.
